Biography
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Autistic Youth formed in 2003 as an American punk band. Guitarists Alex Tryon and Adam Becker joined bassist Nick Vicario and drummer Seve Sheldon to launch the project. Drawing on classic '80s west coast punk acts such as the Adolescents and the Wipers, the group issued its debut LP, Landmine Beach, through local indie Jonny Cat Records in 2006. European distribution soon followed via Germany's Sabotage Records, prompting several years of tours across the United States and Europe. After a single and an EP appeared, the band signed in 2010 with the respected Northwestern punk label Dirtnap Records, which put out the second LP Idle Minds. International touring continued until the third album, Nonage, arrived in 2013.
