Biography
The ensemble unites English vocalist Norma Winstone with her husband, pianist John Taylor, and trumpeter Kenny Wheeler. Winstone assembled the group in the late '70s after appearing with Taylor at Ronnie Scott's club in England. Counted among the nation's most respected singers, she stands out as a genuine vocal improviser. Winstone has also established herself as a leading composer by writing material for Wheeler, pianist Bill Evans, guitarist Egberto Gismonti, and additional artists. Taylor has issued his own recordings with Wheeler and bassist Dave Holland.
