Biography
A singer from Mali, Bako Dagnon earned widespread critical praise upon releasing her first album for international listeners in 2007. Her origins lie in the isolated village of N'Golobladji, and she first gained recognition as a member of L'Ensemble Instrumental du Mali. Multiple solo projects came out locally before Titati reached global audiences that same year via the French imprint Discograph, which partnered with Syllart Productions under the executive guidance of Ibrahima Sylla. François Bréant supervised Titati alongside Sylla, bringing to the sessions prior work on African releases that encompassed Sekouba Bambino's Sinikan (2002), Idrissa Soumaoro's Kote (2003), and Salif Keita's Soro (1987), plus additional recordings.
