Bell

Emerging from Washington State, Bell came together in 1994 once singer, songwriter, and guitarist Vanessa Veselka returned from street performances across Europe and crossed paths with drummer Andy Miller. Miller walked away from his existing group to begin composing and performing alongside her, while his longtime friend and former bandmate Damon Romero soon completed the lineup on guitar. The trio quickly moved into the studio and started booking shows nearby, issuing their debut full-length, A Clear Sense of Beauty, through Y Records in 1996. Bell secured a steady drummer the next year with the addition of Susan Larsen, then put out the Perfect Math EP on their own Yeah It’s Rock Records in 1998 along with the release Bootleg on the Yikes label. New Kind of Rome followed in 1999.
