Biography
Formed in 1995, the German alternative rock band Bell Book & Candle brought together vocalist Jana Gross, guitarist/drummer Andy Birr and bassist Hendrik Roder. The trio signed with the local Turbo Beat label and released their debut album Read My Sign in 1998, achieving a massive hit at home via the single "Rescue Me." Sire/Blackbird reissued the record for the American market in early 1999.
