Blackfeather

Formed in Australia during 1970, Blackfeather sustained its direction under vocalist Neale Johns for nearly the entire span of its decade-long run. The outfit opened with a progressive rock approach audible on the 1971 release Mountains of Madness, yet later shifted toward a leaner rock & roll sound that yielded the Australian #1 single "Boppin' the Blues" as well as the 1974 Live album. Lineup turnover grew frequent through the second half of the 1970s, above all after Johns relocated to the U.K. to launch Fingerprint.
