Biography
Blevin Blectum, also recognized as Bevin Kelley, launched her work in electronic production while studying at Mills College, where she joined Kevin Blechdom (whose given name is Kristin Erikson) to establish the pioneering IDM duo Blectum from Blechdom and shape their singular endeavor. Multiple award-winning releases preceded the duo’s 2002 separation, after which Blectum issued her debut solo album Talon Slalom later that same year and followed it in 2004 with Magic Maple.
A few months before the 2008 appearance of Gular Flutter, Blectum and Blechdom disclosed their reunion and then performed a string of concerts across Europe in early 2009. Across subsequent years Blectum has remained active in the audiovisual band Sagan together with fellow experimental producers J. Lesser—her husband—Wobbly, and Ryan Junell. Her brother, the violinist and post-disco producer Kelley Polar (aka Mike Kelley), rounds out her immediate musical family.
