Biography
Established in 2014 as part of Blue Note's 75th-anniversary celebrations, the Blue Note All-Stars—also known as Our Point of View—operate as an innovative jazz supergroup distinct from any earlier lineup bearing the same name during the 1990s. Pianist Robert Glasper, trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, saxophonist Marcus Strickland, guitarist/vocalist Lionel Loueke, bassist Derrick Hodge, and drummer Kendrick Scott comprise the current roster. Their debut full-length album, Our Point of View, arrived in 2017 and featured a guest contribution from veteran saxophonist Wayne Shorter.
