Biography
During the early twenty-first century, as Turkey’s rock community regained public visibility and found renewed boldness in open expression, Bubituzak emerged as one act that earned acclaim both at home and abroad. The group formed in Istanbul in 2011, featuring Ali Güçlü Şimşek on guitar, Görkem Karabudak on bass guitar and keyboards, and Emrah Atay on drums. Their music merges vintage pop and psychedelia, with leads shaped by surf guitar traditions. Recognition first arrived through their studio and stage work alongside pop vocalist Gaye Su Akyol. The band stepped out independently in 2014 with the release of their debut album, Uzay Yolları Taşlı. One year later they supplied the original score for the film Bir Varmış Bir Yokmuş. In 2017 Bubituzak founded Dunganga Records and inaugurated the label with their third album, Boyutlar.
