Biography
After departing Midnight Star in the late 1980s, trumpeter Reginald and trombonist Vincent Calloway—both established producers—formed the duo that bore their surname. Their opening single, “I Wanna Be Rich,” reached number two on the pop charts, outpacing any Midnight Star single across the prior dozen years. That track remained their lone major success; the only later releases of note were “Sir Lancelot” and the title song from their 1990 debut album All the Way. Two years afterward they returned with Let’s Get Smooth, an effort that proved to be their final album. The brothers subsequently contributed to sessions by Teddy Pendergrass, Pieces of a Dream, and Bootsy Collins, among others.
