Biography
The all-female group first assembled in 1979 under the guidance of producer and drummer Bernadette Cooper, who joined forces with guitarist Cheryl Cooley and keyboard player Lynn Malsby. Lorena Porter Shelby and Joyce "Fenderella" Irby served as the original lead vocalists, though Irby would eventually depart to launch a solo career. By 1990 the lineup had condensed to a trio featuring Shelby, guitarist Cheryl Cooley, and keyboardist Robbin Grider. The band scored a major hit in 1985 with the single "I Miss You".
