Caramelos de Cianuro

In 1992 the Venezuelan Latin rock quartet Caramelos de Cianuro laid down their earliest recordings, the tracks “Nadando a Traves De la Galaxia” and “Tu Mama Te Va a Pegar.” The following year the foursome secured a contract with CNR, which yielded the EP Las Patitas de la Abuela and, in 1994, their debut album Cuentos Para Adultos. Fusing Latin ska and pop/rock, the group resurfaced in 1996 with the Polygram-issued Harakiri City. Two years afterward Alfonso Tosta replaced founding drummer Pablo Martínez, and the band subsequently joined Colombian Aterciopelados on tour. Caramelos de Cianuro’s Miss Mujerzuela attained platinum status in Venezuela in 2001.
