Cheb Kader, a vocalist born in Algeria and now based in France, blends the country's musical heritage with contemporary sounds. Revered as "the prince of rai," he channels his art into explorations of women's and artists' positions within contemporary culture alongside the challenges of immigration. Originating from Oran, Algeria, where his Moroccan parents raised him, Kader relocated to France at nine years old and established himself in Mulhouse, a city in the east of the country. His entry into music occurred in 1986, though outlets for his work proved difficult to secure. Discouraged by limited progress, he stepped away from the industry during the early 1990s to prioritize family life. Nevertheless, he persisted in developing compositions within his personal studio at home. The Latin-infused track "Mani," a collaboration with Sergent Garcia, marked his return to the scene.
