At the age of 23, Osadebe launched his musical journey by joining the Stephen Amache Band for a period before moving on to the Central Dance Band. Establishing Soundmakers International as his own ensemble in 1964 marked a significant step forward. His primary focus remained highlife, earning him recognition among the genre's leading figures. Recognition came in 1981 through a gold disc award for the LP Onu Kwulonjo. Reaching the peak of his success during the mid-1980s, Osadebe achieved sales exceeding 700,000 copies with the hit album Osondi Owendi.
