Chris Bennett

Los Angeles-based vocalist Chris Bennett merges pop and jazz in her approach, producing a voice that often lingers with listeners. Piano skills ran in the family, as both parents played the instrument and her mother taught music at an elementary school, while Bennett herself began piano and dance lessons by age five. She completed a degree in music and dance at the University of Illinois, then continued with graduate work at UCLA. Nightclub appearances followed around that time, and she later lived in Germany for a stretch. Songwriting brought her notable success in the pop realm, with her material cut by leading R&B and pop acts that included Tina Turner.
