Christopher Titus stands out among comedians for bringing an unusually dark sensibility to the sitcom format. His performances blend stand-up routines with monologue-style delivery, maintaining an edge that still appeals broadly. Raised in Northern California amid his parents' divorce, he frequently moved between their households. Titus has described the guidance from this period as instruction in "here's what NOT to do." This challenging family background later formed the core of his solo performances and scripted series, though he first pursued acting studies to inhabit different roles. Earnings from television parts, including a role in the cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space, supported his stand-up development. Appearances on talk shows paved the way for his breakthrough with the 1998 debut of Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding in Los Angeles. The production received strong critical acclaim, enjoyed a successful tour, and was adapted into a 2004 Showtime television special. Drawing from Bleeding, the Fox network broadcast his sitcom Titus across three seasons from 2000 onward. During late 2006, Titus performed in Iraq for stationed American forces and connected with various military personnel. These encounters informed one of the serious subjects on his 2007 Comedy Central release, The Fifth Annual End of the World Tour. The following year, the label issued a CD capturing his Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding performance, and in 2009 it presented his new show Love Is Evol, centered on a breakup. Neverlution! came next in 2011, where Titus critiqued the indifferent “Text Nation,” also known as the "U.S. of American Idol."
