Circa Zero

Circa Zero originated in 2013 as a collaborative venture between Andy Summers, the storied guitarist from the Police, and Rob Giles, the singer/songwriter formerly aligned with the Rescues. Their paths crossed when Summers caught a Rescues show in L.A. and afterward asked Giles to join him for a jam session at his studio in Venice. Satisfied with how the session unfolded, the pair launched into songwriting, Summers handling guitar parts while Giles managed vocals along with bass and drums. The resulting tracks deliver concise, driving rock that echoes elements from each musician’s earlier groups yet ventures into unexplored ground for both. Summers and Giles jointly produced and wrote the material for their first full-length effort, Circus Hero, which 429 Records issued in March 2014.
