Biography
Australian Iva Davies served as the creative force behind Icehouse, a project whose lineup shifted repeatedly over the years. He assembled its earliest incarnation as Flowers in 1977, and the act quickly registered Australian successes beginning with its debut single, "Can't Help Myself." The ensemble’s first album carried the title Icehouse, yet the members adopted that name themselves once they began releasing material overseas, thereby steering clear of another group already using Flowers. American chart entry came in 1981 through "We Can Get Together," although a genuine breakthrough did not materialize until the 1988 release "Crazy." John Oates supplied the songwriting for the follow-up Top Ten single "Electric Blue."
