Biography
Australian singer and songwriter Clairanne Browne first rose to prominence as the bold, fun-loving frontperson of Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes. That high-powered retro-soul act issued the acclaimed Baby Caught the Bus in late 2011. After teaming with RuPaul and Paul Kelly and completing a U.S. tour alongside the Rackettes, Browne connected with Amanda Warner (aka MNDR). The songwriter, producer, and recording artist is best recognized for her work on Mark Ronson's Top Ten U.K. pop hit "Bang Bang Bang." Browne, Warner, and several additional songwriters the latter enlisted then crafted Pool in Los Angeles. Issued by Vanguard in April 2016 as Browne's debut proper solo album, the set retained some squarely retro-soul tracks while expanding its range to draw from late-'70s disco-funk and contemporary pop. Browne sought mainstream traction through its singles "Vanity Fair" and "Love Song to the World."
