Coastgaard

Coastgaard, whose name fittingly evokes coastal vibes, delivers a pleasing style of guitar-driven pop infused with surf elements. Originating in Brooklyn, the group was established by vocalist and guitarist Matt Miller along with drummer Brian d'Alessandro, who sought a fresh path after leaving behind their more somber prior endeavor known as Sons of Sons. Once they crafted lighter, more upbeat compositions, the lineup expanded with the addition of guitarist and keyboardist Sean Glassman plus bassist Paolo Codega, resulting in the independent release of their self-titled debut album, which drew from 1960s influences, in 2013. Those nostalgic sounds and cheerful tunes persisted into the follow-up record Devil on the Balcony, which came out via eOne at the beginning of 2016.
