From the early 1970s onward, Canadian singer and songwriter Colin Linden has been crafting blues-infused rock compositions of his own. Gospel and folk influences feature prominently in his sound, contributing to the widespread recognition his music enjoys throughout Canada. Across the 1980s and 1990s, he put out numerous albums, achieving particular distinction when he received a Juno Award in 1994 for his 1993 effort South at Eight-North at Nine. Although his 1997 album Through the Storm, Through the Night generated significant attention in the United States, Linden persisted in his musical output as the new millennium arrived, releasing Raised By the Wolves in February 2000. Among his various collaborative projects are recordings with Kim Wilson, Bruce Cockburn, the Band, and Mavis Staples.
