CPR

Formed as the trio CPR, the ensemble united iconic rock musician David Crosby with his touring guitarist Jeff Pevar and keyboardist James Raymond, Crosby's son. Raised by adoptive parents, Raymond remained unaware of his biological father's identity until 1992, yet he completed music studies at California State University, San Bernardino before launching a professional career. Raymond finally arranged a meeting with Crosby in 1994; the pair connected instantly after only a few minutes of conversation and soon began composing songs together. Crosby enlisted his son to play keyboards on a 1996 tour that featured Byrds classics such as "Eight Miles High" alongside the new Crosby-Raymond track "Morrison." The three musicians tracked CPR for release on Samson Records in 1998; Live at the Wiltern arrived the next year, followed by Just Like Gravity in June 2001. David Crosby died on January 18, 2023, at the age of 81.
