Paying tribute to Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, the ambient duo Delia Derbyshire Appreciation Society unites British musician Garry Hughes with New York-based Harvey Jones. Their output consists of tranquil, romantic instrumentals, beginning with the self-titled 2017 debut.

Veterans of the industry, Hughes contributed keyboards to Björk, Sly & Robbie, and the Art of Noise, issued two solo albums during the 1980s, and co-founded Bombay Dub Orchestra in 2001. Jones has collaborated extensively with Chris Botti and Gabrielle Roth & the Mirrors while appearing on recordings by Carla Bley, Sting, and Robert Fripp. Although the pair have been friends since the '80s, DDAS marks their initial joint endeavor. Drawing on dozens of analog synthesizers, Mellotrons, and effects, they shape warm, peaceful ambient compositions reminiscent of the genre's '70s pioneers. Six Degrees issued the self-titled debut album in 2017 after the single "Blue Filter," and the duo also delivered a cover of Fripp & Eno's "Evening Star." Their second full-length, Wow and Flutter, appeared in 2018.
