Giuseppe Peveri, occasionally labeled the Italian king of indie rock, took up the stage name Dente—translating to “tooth” in Italian—once his guitar work in assorted groups had concluded. The 2006 album Anice in Bocca launched his solo career, after which came further releases such as 2009’s Amore Non è Bello and the 2011 project Io Tra Di Noi. A relaxed manner paired with somber shading has positioned him among Italy’s best-recognized independent acts.
