Biography
After completing his education at Magdalene College, Cambridge, along with the RCM, Bourgeois first attracted notice when his Symphonic Variations received a performance in 1966. He joined Bristol University in 1971 as a lecturer in music. Works intended for schools and amateur groups remain his most familiar output, reflecting the influence of Walton and Britten.
