Biography
His private tutelage began with Ernest Farrar, who lost his life in 1918, continued under Sir Edward Bairstow from 1918 through 1922, and concluded with Dr. R.O. Morris in 1925. He subsequently held the post of composition professor at the Royal Academy of Music and served with the Ministry of War Transport from 1939 to 1945.
