Biography
Among the English modernist composers who came to the fore following World War I, Bliss achieved the greatest prominence. His catalog ranged across numerous forms, among them film scores, and in 1953 he assumed the post of Master of the Queen's Musick upon Sir Arnold Bax’s retirement.
