Diva

Diva Dompe from Los Angeles fronts the solo endeavor known as Diva. Previously, she participated in BlackBlack alongside her sister Lola and Alex Greenwald from Phantom Planet, as well as Pocahaunted, which counted Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast and Bobb Bruno among its members. She also belongs to the L.A. Ladies Choir. In 2010, she launched her independent career with the cassette issue of her first album, The Glitter End, toward the end of that year. The record blended atmospheric elements reminiscent of Pocahaunted with influences from gamelan, Afro-pop, and electro, garnering praise that led to a broader release on the Critical Heights label in August 2011. Her next effort, Moon Moods from 2012, expanded her sound by weaving in doo wop, chillwave, and goth-disco elements. Additionally, Dompe put out guided meditations through her Bandcamp page and Leaving Records. In 2015, her third pop album Divinity in Thee came out on Circle Star Records, the imprint run by Peanut Butter Wolf.
