Biography
The origins of Easter Island trace back to 1973, when Mark Miceli, responsible for guitar and vocals, launched the project. To complete the initial roster he recruited Jon Lewis on bass, Don Harris handling vocals plus assorted instruments, and Alexander Alexander at the drums. Ray Vogel soon came aboard on keyboards. Lucky Carmean stepped in for Alexander on drums at an early point. Multiple personnel adjustments followed before the band issued its debut album, Easter Island, in 1980. By 1981 the lineup had stabilized as a trio with Bob Chapman on drums, Park Crain on bass, and Miceli. Although the group disbanded in 1982, its members reassembled in 1997, now consisting of Miceli, Chapman, and Richard Streander.
