Eastern Youth

Forming in Japan during 1989, Eastern Youth assembled around vocalist/guitarist Hisashi Yoshino, drummer Atsuya Tamori, and bassist Mitsuhashi. The lineup engaged with the early-’90s “band boom,” and following Mitsuhashi’s exit the group installed Tomokazu Ninomiya in the bass role, quickly establishing itself as a central presence in the Japanese emo scene. A 2000 U.S. appearance with At the Drive In preceded the 2002 split CD the band recorded with Cursive.
