Biography
Formed by conductor Frederick Fennell at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, the Eastman-Rochester Pops Orchestra operated as a studio ensemble. The group cut multiple albums for Mercury Records spotlighting works by Eastman composer Howard Hanson together with pieces from other American figures such as Charles Ives, George Gershwin, William Schuman, and Percy Grainger.
