Biography
Eef Barzelay, based in Nashville, fronts Clem Snide, the alt-country/indie group that put out a handful of records across the 1990s and 2000s and also supplied the theme music for the television show Ed. He launched the band in 1991, only to suspend activity briefly in 1994. Several years afterward the ensemble reformed and issued its debut album in 1998. Sire, a major label, signed Clem Snide for the follow-up release, yet the partnership ended abruptly when the act was dropped, leading the band to land instead at spinART. Barzelay issued his own solo effort, Bitter Honey, in 2006—a sparse folk set built around his voice and acoustic guitar.
