EOTO

EOTO formed as an electro jam band around Jason Hann and Michael Travis, both members of the String Cheese Incident. The String Cheese Incident originated in Boulder, CO during 1993 and entered the studio for the first time three years later, issuing Born on the Wrong Planet. That debut appeared on the group’s independent SCI Fidelity Records imprint and was succeeded by a string of further titles, although the String Cheese Incident remains best recognized for its concert work. Sustained support from a loyal audience has kept the String Cheese Incident on the road for extensive tours, and, consistent with the practices of similar jam ensembles, the band regularly documents and sells recordings of those shows. Within the String Cheese Incident, Hann serves as percussionist and Travis as drummer; Hann became a member in 2005. Shortly after his arrival the larger group began dividing its energies among multiple side projects, one of which was EOTO. The pair released their first full-length recording under the EOTO name in 2006, delivering Elephants Only Talk Occasionally through SCI Fidelity Records, then followed it with the album Razed two years later. Beyond those studio efforts, EOTO maintains an active touring schedule and continues to issue live recordings, performances distinguished by the pair’s skill at spontaneous improvisation.
