Biography
In the closing years of the 1980s, Colombian techno/pop outfit Estados Alterados originated through the efforts of vocalist Fernando Sierra, widely recognized as Elvis, keyboardist Tato, and drummer Mana. Mana’s life ended prematurely in a car accident, after which Ricardo Restrepo, known as Ricky, assumed the drum chair. Building on the momentum of their debut self-titled album and its popular single “Muevete,” the ensemble tracked Cuarto Acto under the guidance of producer Richard Blair in 1994. Guitarist Camilo Zuleta’s arrival facilitated the creation of Rojo Sobre Rojo, shaped by Federico López and put out via the independent imprint Discos Fuentes in 1995. Four years later the group aligned with other Latin rock acts for the Cure tribute collection Tributo a the Cure - Por Qué No Puedo Ser Tú, delivering their rendition of “A Forest.”
