Frank Iero

Frank Iero, previously the guitarist in My Chemical Romance, established Frank Iero and the Patience as his punk-rock vehicle. Initially operating under the name Frnkiero and the Cellabration, he issued the album Stomachaches in 2014. With Alex Grippo on bass, Evan Nestor on guitar, and Matt Olsson behind the drums, the lineup supported tours alongside the Used, Taking Back Sunday, Mallory Knox, and Against Me!. The project adopted its current moniker, Frank Iero and the Patience, sometimes rendered as frnkiero andthe patience, in 2016, when the music shifted toward an unvarnished blend of garage rock and hardcore punk. Parachutes appeared later that year on Vagrant/Hassle/Cooking Vinyl and included the singles “I’m a Mess” and “Oceans,” while cuts such as “World Destroyer” and “They Wanted Darkness” intensified its aggressive edge. An October Australian tour promoting the record ended abruptly after a serious vehicle collision forced cancellation of all remaining Parachutes dates. Iero then released the four-track EP Keep the Coffins Coming on BMG/Vagrant, recorded with producer Steve Albini.
