Biography
Jazz keyboardist Freddie Ravel maintains an extensive catalog of session work alongside several releases issued under his own name. Raised in Los Angeles from birth, he drew early exposure to diverse cultures through his Colombian and Eastern European roots, while repeated international travel further broadened his familiarity with global musical traditions. Among the prominent figures who have collaborated with him are Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Jarreau, Strunz & Farah, Madonna, Quincy Jones, and Sergio Mendes. His own recordings first appeared in the early 1990s with Midnight Passion in 1991 and Sol to Soul in 1995, both issued by Verve Forecast; six years later he delivered his GRP debut, simply titled Freddie Ravel. In addition, he has established himself as a capable orchestral composer.
