Biography
Many believe this Italian composer, renowned violinist, and organist instructed Corelli. Ferrara saw the creation of his earliest oratorios. Sonatas, operas, oratorios, masses, concertos, and cantatas formed the range of his output. Arias drawn from the opera "Gli amori alla moda" survive among his extant pieces. Period conventions often constrained Bassani's efforts, yet those works still reveal his distinctive enthusiasm for the violin.
