The Los Angeles-based duo Girl Next Door specialized in an alternative and trip-hop sound, built around vocalist and guitarist Kat Green together with multi-instrumentalist Billy Lincoln. Their first release arrived in 1998 as the self-released LP Remembering Analogue, which prompted comparisons to Morcheeba and Craig Armstrong. Strong local reception encouraged the pair to follow up the next year with the Transition EP, which contained a remix of the Analogue track "Gorgeous."
