Biography
Glen Moore, a longstanding participant in Oregon, favors an introspective approach in his performances, crafting thoughtful and melodic improvisations that incorporate elements from folk, classical, and ethnic traditions. Beginning his bass playing at the age of thirteen, he engaged in freelance work throughout New York during the middle of the 1960s. His 1967 recording session involved Nick Brignola, followed by part-time appearances in the Paul Bley Synthesizer Show from 1969 through 1971, and membership in Paul Winter's Consort during 1970 before departing to co-establish Oregon. Beyond his contributions to that diverse ensemble, Glen Moore has collaborated on recordings with Annette Peacock, Larry Coryell, Ralph Towner, and Zbigniew Seifert, in addition to various non-jazz projects. He has also directed his own recording sessions for the labels Enja, Elektra, and Audioquest while forming a duet partnership with vocalist Nancy King under the name King & Moore, which produced recordings for Justice.
