Biography
Singer/songwriter Glenn Medeiros first rose to prominence through his 1987 global success with “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You” and his 1990 American chart-topper “She Ain’t Worth It,” a collaboration with Bobby Brown. Born in Hawaii to parents of Portuguese descent, he developed his performance abilities during childhood by joining his father on the family’s sightseeing excursions across Kauai. At sixteen he captured first place in a local radio competition, after which his career accelerated rapidly; within two years he shared Billboard’s upper reaches with Bel Biv DeVoe, Paula Abdul, and Rick Astley. Later pairings with Ray Parker, Jr. on “All I’m Missing Is You” and with the Jets on “Under Any Moon” earned respectable airplay yet never matched the commercial impact of “She Ain’t Worth It,” prompting Medeiros to shift into education by the middle of the decade.
