For decades Gloria Loring has maintained an active schedule of song recording and live performances across the globe, her adaptable vocal style earning her lasting recognition within the pop field. Her résumé spans stage, broadcast, and radio work, and she also contributed to the signature tunes of Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.

She launched her professional singing career at fourteen as a member of the '60s folk ensemble Those Four. Her first acting appearance came on The Merv Griffin Show, which quickly opened doors to vocal engagements on numerous television programs, among them The Tonight Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and both the Emmy and Academy Awards broadcasts.

In 1970 she wed television personality Alan Thicke; the marriage yielded sons Brennan and Robin before ending in divorce in 1983. During the children’s early years she concentrated on songwriting, producing material for several television series. One composition, “What’ve You Got to Lose,” created with Eric Kaz, found a place in the motion picture Inside Moves. Bolstered by her variety-show exposure and vocal reputation, she turned toward acting and, in 1980, secured the part of Liz Chandler on the daytime drama Days of Our Lives, a role she held for six and a half years. The duet “Friends and Lovers,” recorded with Carl Anderson, was introduced on the program and achieved widespread success.

Beyond her screen work, her vocal performances have taken her throughout North America, Europe, and Australia, sharing stages with Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Al Jarreau, Mel Tormé, and the Pointer Sisters. By the late '80s and into the '90s her focus shifted toward the stage, where she appeared in Queen of the Soaps, Star Dust, and the Tony Award-winning production Music Minus One.

She maintains an international touring schedule and, more recently, released the single “Is There Anybody Out There?” New material continues to occupy her attention, alongside ongoing charitable efforts centered on the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. She resides in California with her husband, production designer Rene Lagler.
