Biography
Goblin Rebirth materialized in 2015, taking shape under the influence of Goblin, the Italian progressive rock ensemble whose primary output consisted of horror-film scores, many of them created in partnership with director Dario Argento. Core membership revolved around longtime Goblin bassist Fabio Pignatelli and Agostino Marangolo, the drummer whose tenure with the original band began in the mid-1970s and continued thereafter, joined by Aidan Zammit, Danilo Cherni, and Giacomo Anselmi. The resulting quintet signed with Relapse Records and delivered a self-titled collection of fresh recordings that same year.
