Afro-Colombian vocalist and rapper Goyo fuses Caribbean rhythms with supple vocal lines and a seductive club energy, yielding a groove that feels both laid-back and charged. After logging years as a member of the Colombian ensemble ChocQuibTown, she stepped out on her own in 2022, unveiling her first full-length project, En Letra de Otro.

Born Gloria Martínez in 1982, she was raised along Colombia’s Pacific coast in the town of Condoto. Early in the 2000s she joined ChocQuibTown, a trio completed by Carlos “Tostao” Valencia and her sibling Miguel “Slow” Martínez. The group’s eclectic style and socially aware songwriting established them as a significant act, earning multiple Latin Grammy victories across a long career. Near the end of 2020 Goyo moved to Miami, where she began shaping material for a solo career. Following several single releases, En Letra de Otro arrived in March 2022; an HBO documentary sharing the album’s title appeared at the same time, tracing both her personal journey and the record’s creation.
