Biography
Hank Cochran, the Nashville-based songwriter, authored a wealth of country successes spanning the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. These encompassed Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces,” George Strait’s “The Chair,” Jeannie Seely’s “Don’t Touch Me,” Ray Price and Ronnie Milsap’s “Don’t You Ever Get Tired of Hurtin’ Me?,” Merle Haggard’s “It’s Not Love (But It’s Not Bad),” Eddy Arnold’s “Make the World Go Away,” and Cline’s follow-up “She’s Got You.” When teaming with Nashville legends such as Harlan Howard, Vern Gosdin, and Dean Dillon, Cochran divided melodic and lyrical duties equally on every co-written piece.
