Biography
Heir Apparent originated in Seattle, Washington, when guitarist Terry Gorle established the group in 1983. The outfit released two modestly progressive power metal records: Graceful Inheritance from 1986, which included vocalist Paul Davidson along with bassist Derek Peace and drummer Ray Schwartz, and the 1989 effort One Small Voice, marked by a clear Queensrÿche influence and the addition of singer Steve Benito plus keyboardist Mike Jackson. Commercial failure prompted the ensemble's dissolution, yet Gorle resurrected it in 1999 to support the following year's Triad anthology drawn from 1988 demo recordings, supplemented by sporadic performances throughout the Seattle vicinity.
