Biography
Marc Bianchi, head of the AudioInformationPhenomemon label and a former participant in the hardcore scene through groups such as Indian Summer and Calm, launched the electronic space pop project Her Space Holiday in 1996 primarily as a bedroom recording effort. Early output encompassed the Audio Astronomy 12", Astronauts Are Sleeping, and the Something Blue EP. The project subsequently joined Tiger Style, where the 2000 album Home Is Where You Hang Yourself appeared and generated touring invitations along with requests for remixes. After Bianchi relocated with his girlfriend and collaborator Keely from San Francisco to Austin, TX in 2001, the pair delivered the Manic Expressive LP, which was followed in 2003 by Young Machines on Mush. A remix edition of Young Machines surfaced soon afterward, incorporating reinterpretations by Matmos, Super Furry Animals, and Stereolab. Two further projects reached completion for 2005, beginning with the May arrival of the Let's Get Quiet, Vol. 1 EP and continuing with the full-length Past Presents the Future several months later. The second Let's Get Quiet EP appeared in 2007. Issued in 2008, XOXO, Panda and the New Kid Revival emphasized expanded live instrumentation alongside hook-driven pop material.
