Biography
Songwriter Nathan Pemberton spent his childhood along Holiday Shores Court, a two-block road in Florida’s panhandle. Ocean waves and nearby beaches surrounded the area when he first sat down at the piano at age seven, then took up guitar a few years afterward, an interest that soon led him into several teenage bands and later college ensembles. The coastal setting never lost its hold on his songwriting, so in his early twenties he formed Holiday Shores and completed its roster with Josh Martin, Ryan O'Malley, and Peejay Perez de Alejo. The band entered the studio for the first time in 2009, issuing the lo-fi, summery pop songs collected on Columbus’d the Whim.
