Hurricane Wisdom merges speedy rhymes with sincere melodic singing in a style all his own, and this candid, unadorned style has attracted notice from hip-hop sites through cuts such as “Who I Am,” “Honey Mustard,” and “Giannis” as well as from peers including Rod Wave, NLE Choppa, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Born Wisdom Oluola in Tallahassee, Florida, he grew up in the modest rural community of Havana not far away. Participation in church and school choirs nurtured his musical foundation, and although he gravitated toward rap, an enduring taste for melody—often delivered in a higher register than listeners anticipate—still surfaces in his verses. He chose the name Hurricane Wisdom, drawn from his once-wavy hair before he switched to dreadlocks, and issued independent material in 2020 that included the early standout “Granny’s Boy.” His debut album Hurricane Season arrived the following year, with “So Cold” receiving support from Rod Wave, one of Wisdom’s preferred artists. State of Emergency appeared in 2022 and spotlighted “Real Me” plus a remix of “Granny’s Boy,” while Category 5: The Biggest Hurricane followed in 2023 and featured a NLE Choppa-assisted version of “Real Me.” Future, Meek Mill, Chris Brown, and A Boogie wit da Hoodie each shared his songs or praised them in interviews. Although Wisdom voiced interest in broadening his involvement across the industry—from songwriting to label ownership—because of the unstable nature of a recording career, he remained active in 2024 with the album Eye of the Storm, which includes the well-liked “QTTM,” and the standalone single “Giannis.”
