Biography
A specialist in standards, French vocalist Jack Lantier maintained an active presence across several decades in the music industry, reaching peak output in the 1970s via releases on Vogue. André de Meyer, born in Paris during 1930, launched his professional journey in the 1950s under the name Jack Lantier. From the 1960s through the 1980s, he remained affiliated with Vogue, producing a series of complete albums with the majority appearing in that most prolific decade. Compilations later gathered standout tracks from his extensive recordings, resulting in multiple retrospective greatest-hits packages over subsequent years. Les Plus Belle Chansons Françaises, Vols. 1-2 from 1993, Chansons pour Noël also issued in 1993, and the ten-disc set Chansons de Toujours released in 2008 rank among the prominent examples.
