Biography
Emerging from East London, producer and DJ Jadell, also known as Jamie Odell, first earned notice through remixes created for Mixmaster Morris, Lamb, Coldcut, and Airto. Starting in 1998 he issued a series of solo singles under his own name, among them “Brand New Sound,” “The Sure Shot,” “Can You Hear Me?,” and “Compared to What,” each fusing the propulsive elements of soul, funk, electro, and hip-hop. His first full-length solo album, Gentleman of Leisure, appeared in 2000 on the Ultimate label.
